Lansdowne is known for its well-preserved pre-independence era bungalows, some of which are in excellent condition. The town is easily accessible and well-connected, as the roads are maintained by the army. The administration of the hill station is taken care of by the cantonment board of the Indian army, ensuring cleanliness and minimal commercialization. The best time to visit Lansdowne is throughout the year, although May/June may be slightly crowded and accommodation could be a challenge to find. As Outlook Traveller magazine describes it, Lansdowne is as glorious as heaven itself, with its heavenly gates opening up to a mesmerizing sky of grey and blue.
