While flights from Granada Airport have been temporarily halted, there are still alternative options available. - Malaga Airport, located just 1 hour and 45 minutes away, has become the preferred choice for visitors to Las Alpujarras. Car hire from Malaga Airport is inexpensive, allowing for easy transportation. The coastal drive to Motril, followed by an inland route to Orgiva, will take you to the Low Alpujarra. From there, you can continue on the good mountain road to explore the Poqueira Gorge (including Capileira, Bubion & Pampaneira), the Taha de Pitres, and beyond. - Almeria Airport is another point of entry, located approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes away. - If you prefer public transportation, there is also a bus route from Granada to the High Alpujarra, though take note that there are only 3 buses available daily.
