Kuala Kubu Bharu, also known as KKB, is an enchanting small town nestled at the foothill of Frasers Hill. This quaint town has a fascinating history that dates back to the 18th century when it was a thriving mining hub. Tragedy struck in February 1883 when a colossal flood caused by a broken dam devastated the nearby town of Kuala Kubu. The flood claimed numerous lives and caused extensive damage, leaving the town in ruins. Among the devastation, a Buddhist temple and a mosque stood as resilient symbols of hope. Now known as Ampang Pecah, meaning "Broken Dam" in Malay, this area stands as a testament to the tragic event. In the aftermath, the British government decided to build a new town near the remains of Kuala Kubu. Thus, Kuala Kubu Bharu was born, with the term "Bharu" representing its new beginnings.
