Koga, a former castle town, is situated on the border of three prefectures: Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Saitama. Rich with history, Koga is renowned for its association with Koga Domain lord Doi Toshitsura, an esteemed leader during the Tokugawa Shogunate era. One of his remarkable contributions was instructing villagers to plant peach trees. These trees not only provided firewood but also yielded delicious fruit. Furthermore, during the spring season, the city becomes a breathtaking sight as the peach trees blossom. In honor of Doi Toshitsura's legacy, Koga hosts the annual Peach Blossom festival, cherished by locals and visitors alike.
