- The easiest option is to go to the Siboya Office in Krabi Town. They will arrange a songthaew to take you to Laem Hin for 100 baht per person. From there, you can take the on-demand longtail public ferry to Laem Soma on Koh Siboya for 20 baht per person. A truck will be waiting to meet you.
- If you prefer to go on your own, you can take a songthaew to Nua Klong, which is on the southern highway towards Trang. From Nua Klong, you can transfer to another songthaew to the coastal village of Laem Kruad. Then, you can hire a longtail or wait for the scheduled ferry to take you to the east shore of Koh Siboya. Once you reach the island, you can hitch a ride with a local, walk 3 kilometers, or call Siboya Bungalows for a pick-up.
- Another option is to charter a private longtail boat for approximately 1500 baht one way.
Understand
Koh Siboya, a hidden gem off the beaten path, offers a unique experience away from the usual tourist spots. Aside from the three resorts on the island, you'll encounter quaint local stalls selling everyday items, tasty snacks, and even petrol. Immerse yourself in the local culture as you explore this 3 x 10 km island, connected by dirt roads and footpaths. With a population of approximately 1000 residents, most of whom work in rubber plantations or fishing, Koh Siboya truly epitomizes authentic island living. The limited transportation options, mainly motorcycles or walking, add to the charm of this secluded paradise. Although the island was spared from the devastating tsunami of 2004, it faced the challenge of coping with the high water surge that caused significant damage to its fishing fleet. Thankfully, a new community clinic provides medical assistance during daytime hours for minor ailments. Get ready to embark on a captivating adventure in Koh Siboya!
