Edale is not only accessible by car from Hope, Castleton, and Mam Tor, but it also has a train station for those arriving by rail. If you're coming from Hope, you'll take a scenic single track road for about 6 miles. Meanwhile, approaching from the south, you'll enjoy a thrilling drive along a steep road from Castleton or Mam Tor. Once you arrive at Edale, you'll find a relatively large car park where you can conveniently leave your vehicle for the duration of your walk. There are also several cafes and pubs in Edale, perfect for a pre or post-walk refreshment. The iconic Pennine Way also starts at the Nags Head in Edale, so you can follow in the footsteps of countless adventurers. If you're looking for alternative routes, consider starting from Hayfield and journeying via the River Kinder and Kinder Reservoir. Some routes can also be accessed from the A57.
