Planning a trip to Khuri? Here's how you can get there:
- By taxi: From Jaisalmer station or Hanumant chaura, taxis are readily available to take you to Khuri. Prices may vary depending on the car type but are usually around Rs 600 for Tata Indica and Rs 800-1000 for Tata Sumo.
- By auto rickshaw: You can also opt for an auto rickshaw ride from Jaisalmer to Khuri. The price for a return journey is approximately Rs 500-800. - By bus: If you prefer a more budget-friendly option, you can take a direct bus from Jaisalmer. The bus station is located 100m east of the entrance to the lake, on rd '15'. Just look out for a small shrine at the base of a sloping tree. Be cautious when buying tickets as some sellers may try to overcharge you. The current price is Rs 35 each way, so make sure not to overpay. If in doubt, ask other bus riders for the correct price or take a photo of the conductor to resolve any issues.
Once you arrive in Khuri, you'll find a range of guest houses to choose from. The cost for a safari can vary, starting from 450 rupees and going up, depending on the time of your visit. December 2012 prices were 30 rupees for the bus ride to Khuri.
