Khachmaz, situated in the northeastern region of Azerbaijan, lies between the majestic Caucasus Mountains in Quba and Qusar regions to the west, and the Caspian Sea to the east. Bordering Devechi to the south, this region extends northward towards Russia. Khachmaz city itself is located approximately 10 km from the Caspian Sea and the Devechi border, with the Quba border lying further to the west. The northern border is distant from the city.
