Get in
Getting to Kashihara from Kansai International Airport is a breeze. The easiest way is to take a JR train to Tennoji station, and then walk to Kintetsu Abenobashi station. From there, you can catch an express train that runs twice an hour to Yoshino, and in just 40 minutes, you'll arrive in Kashihara. The cost for this ride is 610 yen. If you prefer a faster option, limited express services are available. These trains take only 35 minutes but require an additional 500 yen surcharge. If you're flying into Narita International Airport, don't worry! Just make your way to Tokyo station and catch the Shinkansen to Kyoto station. From Kyoto, you can easily switch to the Kintetsu line and continue your journey to Kashihara. In Kashihara, there are two main train stations: Yamato-Yagi to the north and Kashiharajingu-mae to the south. Both stations are served by Kintetsu trains. Yamato-Yagi station is especially important as it is where the Osaka and Kashihara lines intersect. From Kyoto, you can take one of the two limited express trains per hour, and in just 45-50 minutes, you'll reach Kashiharajingu-mae station. Slower express trains are also available, departing twice per hour and taking about an hour to reach Yamato-Yagi. The fare for these trains is 860 yen, or 870 yen if on the limited express. If you're coming from Osaka, your journey will start at Uehonmachi station. Express services leave three times per hour and will get you to Yamato-Yagi in just 35 minutes for a fare of 540 yen. For those coming from Nagoya, Kintetsu limited express trains operate hourly from Kintetsu Nagoya. The journey to Yamato-Yagi takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, and the cost is 3520 yen. This is the best choice if you're traveling from Nagoya, as taking a bullet train to Kyoto and then transferring to a Kintetsu train would take the same amount of time but cost double. If you prefer to arrive directly in Kashihara, you can take a limited express train from Kyoto Station to Kashiharajingu-mae. The journey takes 50 minutes on the hourly limited express trains, or about 75 minutes on the slower express trains. The fare is 860 yen, with an additional 870 yen for the limited express.
