Get in
To visit the stunning Chachapoyas in Peru, you'll first need to make your way to the charming town. If you're up for an adventure, you can reach Chachapoyas by taking a collectivo from the Chachapoyas terminal to Luya. From there, hop on another collectivo to Cruz Pata. In this tiny village, you'll find a ticket office, a restaurant, a shop, and even a place to rent boots for your journey. The path to the viewpoint is clearly marked, and it will take you about 20 minutes to walk downhill and 30 minutes to hike back up. During the rainy season, the path can get muddy, so wearing hiking boots is recommended. However, you can also hire horses if you prefer. Don't worry about bringing binoculars; you can get up close to the statues and see them clearly. When visiting Chachapoyas, consider combining your trip with a visit to the Pueblo de los Muertos or the Quiocta Cavern. Tours usually offer this option and provide rubber boots for the cavern visit. So, put on your adventure hat and get ready to explore Chachapoyas!
