Although it is located quite far from the more interesting parts of the railway in northern Pahang and Kelantan, Mentakab connects to Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan, making it a possible access point for your adventure. Finally, Gemas marks the southern end of the Jungle Railway and can be easily accessed by road or by taking the Butterworth-Kuala Lumpur-Singapore railway line. From the western coast, you'll first have to take an ETS train to Gemas, then catch the midnight express train to Tumpat.
