Discover Kadky (ancient Khalkedon) and skdar (ancient Chrysopolis/Scutari), the captivating historical cores of this magnificent city. These two areas originally developed as independent cities, predating the formation of Istanbul itself. Only in the late 19th century were they incorporated into Istanbul. The establishment of regular steamer services across the Bosphorus in the 1840s further added to their significance. Today, Kadky and skdar thrive as bustling commercial zones. While the rest of this district consists of modern high-rise apartments, there are exceptions that exude character, such as the Bosphorus bank with its enchanting palaces, mansions, and charming neighborhoods. Additionally, along the coast of the Sea of Marmara, you'll find a beautiful and extensive park, accompanied by impressive wooden mansions. Known for its orderliness and fewer crowds, the Asian Side of Istanbul is home to approximately 4.4 million people. Surprisingly, one-third of all Istanbulites reside here, with around 1.3 million commuting daily to Europe.
