## SECTION TEXT HERE ## The village holds a significant connection to Albert Chmielowski, also known as Saint Brother Albert. Born and raised in this very place, he displayed immense bravery by participating in the January Uprising. Unfortunately, he suffered severe injuries and had to undergo a leg amputation. Undeterred, Chmielowski embarked on a journey to Paris before returning to Lesser Poland, where he dedicated his life to selflessly helping others through acts of charity. His unwavering devotion led him to become a monk. Tragically, he passed away on Christmas Day in 1916 in his tranquil hermitage in Kalatwki, near Zakopane. In recognition of his remarkable life, Chmielowski was proclaimed a saint in 1989, forever inspiring those who hear his story.
