Looking to explore the beautiful island of Hvar in Croatia? Here are some options for getting around the island: - Jelsa: You can take a fast catamaran from Split to Jelsa. The journey takes about 1.5 hours and tickets cost 47kn per person. During the summer, there are also boats from other towns around Makarska and the island Bra. - Stari Grad: If you're in Split, you can catch a car ferry to Stari Grad. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and tickets cost 47kn per person and 318kn per car. Make sure to check the latest timetables at the Tourist information office. - Hvar City: There are two companies, Jadrolinija and Krilo/Kapetan Luka, offering fast catamaran sailings between Split and Hvar City. The journey takes about 1 hour, but tickets sell out quickly during the summer, so arrive early to secure your spot. Note that year-round lines are cheaper than seasonal lines. - Buses: Buses operate throughout the island, taking passengers to different destinations. The fare is 12kn to Starigrad and 27kn to Hvar City. Make sure to board the bus on time, as they tend to leave quickly after the boat docks. Standing room may be available if all seats are taken. - Other destinations: You can also travel from Hvar town to Vela Luka, Lastovo, and from Suuraj to Drvenik with Jadrolinija.
