To reach this destination, there are three roads that lead you here. You have the option to come from the south or north on State Highway 101. Another route is to come from the west on State Highway 299 from Redding to Highway 101 north of Arcata. Lastly, you can take the lesser-known Highway 36 from Red Bluff to Fortuna. However, it is important to check the highway conditions on both routes before traveling, as Highway 36 is often closed in the winter. It is recommended for those who enjoy driving in good weather conditions. If you prefer traveling by air, the Eureka/Arcata Airport is conveniently located just 20 minutes north of Eureka. Currently, the airport is served by United Airlines. Private pilots can find fuel at Murray Field in Eureka, Rohnerville Airport in Fortuna, and Garberville Airport. Additionally, Shelter Cove is an airport commonly used for short flights, known as a "$100 dollar hamburger run" airport, although no fuel is available there.
