To reach Suuroy, there are a couple of options for transportation. You can take the ferry Smyril, which departs from Trshavn with 2-3 daily departures. If you prefer a faster option, there is also a helicopter that has 2-3 weekly departures from various destinations in the Faroe Islands. Once you arrive at the ferry port Krambatangi or the heliport in Froba, getting to Hov is convenient. You have a few choices depending on your preference. You can drive yourself if you bring your car on the ferry. Alternatively, you can take a local bus or call for a taxi. If you enjoy walking, it's also possible to walk from the ferry port, though it's a bit farther to reach the heliport in Froba. The heliport is located on the northern side of the fjord of Trongisvgur, east of Tvroyri. Hov itself is situated around another fjord, further south than Trongisvgsfjrur. So get ready for a scenic journey!
