Are you ready for an adventure to Isla Holbox? Get there by hopping on a ferry in Chiquil! The ferry ride, run by the companies 9 hermanos and Holbox Express, is a thrilling 25-30 minutes journey. During high season, there's even a late-night 22:30 ferry! Plus, the ferry runs daily from 6 am to 21:30, with departures every half an hour.

Ready for a road trip? If you're coming by car from Cancun, follow the signs on the road. Take the free highway 180 (also known as Merida Libre) or Avenida Jos Lopez Portillo, heading towards Merida. Pro tip: always stay on the right when the road separates. At El Ideal, turn right to Kantunilkin and then make your way to Chiquil, the gateway to Isla Holbox.
But wait, there are more options! Buses, colectivos, and shuttles from Cancun to Chiquil are available daily. If you're coming from Playa del Carmen or Tulum, there's a direct first-class bus that leaves at 8:10 am and takes about 3 and a half hours from Tulum (284 pesos). For a more adventurous option, there are two colectivos departing at 11:30 pm and 18:30 pm.
Coming from Merida? Hop on a night bus at 23:30, arriving in Chiquil at 5:30. This journey even passes through Valladolid around 2:30. Prefer traveling during the day? Take a bus from Merida or Valladolid to Tizimin, then switch to a bus to Chiquil. Buses from Valladolid to Tizimin depart every hour starting at 6:00.
