Get in
Hang Chat, a town located in northern Thailand, offers various transportation options for travelers. The most convenient way to reach Hang Chat is by having your own vehicle. Whether it's a car or a motorbike, take Hwy 11 (also known as the superhighway) towards Chiang Mai. If you're unsure about the route, simply pull over and ask a local for directions to Chiang Mai. Once you're on the right path, keep an eye out for the well-marked sign indicating the turn into the town. After making the u-turn, follow the sign and turn off the highway to the left. Congratulations! You've successfully made it to Hang Chat! Alternatively, if you're staying in Lampang, which is located to the north of the river, you can take Hwy 1039 straight into the heart of Hang Chat. For those who prefer public transportation, there is the option of taking a green (regional) bus from the bus station in Lampang. Although the buses are not air-conditioned and have hard seats, the journey to Hang Chat is relatively short. Simply ask the bus driver to drop you off at Hang Chat, and you'll be conveniently located near the Shell gas station on the side of the highway. From there, you can explore the town on foot. However, keep in mind that this option may require more effort than it's worth.
