Whether you choose LIR or NCT, you can quickly reach all the Pacific beach cities within a few hours by car or short domestic flight. To access Guanacaste's magnificent beaches from San Jose, you have the option to take a ferry from the vibrant coastal town of Puntarenas across the Golfo de Nicoya. From there, embark on an exciting adventure on the poorly paved roads that lead to numerous breathtaking beaches. However, for a more comfortable journey, we recommend taking the Puente de la Amistad (Bridge of the Friendship), a four-hour scenic drive from San Jose that will take you directly to the stunning Guanacaste beaches.
