Understand
The ruins of Great Zimbabwe, covering almost 1,800 acres, are the largest in sub-Saharan Africa. These magnificent ruins are divided into three distinct architectural groupings known as the Hill Complex, the Valley Complex, and the Great Enclosure. What's truly impressive is that they were built using the dry-stone technique, with no mortar to hold the stones together. Despite this ancient construction method, the buildings have managed to withstand the test of time for seven centuries!
