The Golden Gate is a stunning valley with majestic sandstone cliffs on either side. Its name originated from farmer J.N.R. van Reenen, who witnessed the enchanting sight of the setting sun's rays caressing the cliffs. This location became a national park in 1963 to preserve its incredible beauty. Since then, the park has expanded multiple times, growing to an impressive 340 square kilometers in 2007. The Golden Gate National Park now stands as a testament to nature's splendor and offers a plethora of scenic wonders to explore.
