The region of Maritsa River, which forms the Greco-Turkish border, is dotted with border posts that connect Bulgaria and Greece. There are four border posts with Bulgaria (one rail and others highway) and three border posts with Greece (one rail and others highway). These border posts are located on the banks of Maritsa River, making for an interesting and scenic crossing. The major border posts include Dereky, Kapkule, Uzunkpr, and Psala. In addition to the border crossings, the region is well-connected to Istanbul through highways, motorways, buses, and trains. It is even possible to find a direct bus from Istanbul to a hidden village in this region. Please note that all trains to the region depart from the European station in Istanbul. There are two international airports in the region: Ataturk Airport in Istanbul and Corlu Airport (reserved for flights from ex-Soviet countries only). If you prefer a more scenic and leisurely journey, there are also ferries available to explore the towns and cities along the southern and northern coasts of the Sea of Marmara.
