If you're planning to fly to the area, the closest airport is Calais-Dunkerque Airport. It's located between the towns of Calais and Dunkerque and offers international flights. There's also another airport on the outskirts of Bruges, called Ostend-Bruges International Airport. If you prefer to fly to a bigger airport, Brussels Airport is a bit further out and you can easily rent a car from there. The driving distance from Brussels Airport to the area is approximately 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can also take a ferry from Dover in England with the ferry operator DFDS Seaways. However, please note that foot passengers are not accepted from that port. If you prefer to travel by train, Dunkirk has a well-connected train station that offers connections to Paris, Lille, and Arras. Just be cautious as the train line you might see on most maps from Dunkirk to Belgium is not for passenger use. So, whether you prefer flying, ferrying, or taking the train, there are several options for getting to the area.
