Understand
The Miller's Point public slipway is a popular facility used by divers, commercial fishermen, and sport fishermen in False Bay. It is conveniently located on the west side of the bay, making it easily accessible to most dive sites. However, there are occasional challenges, such as limited access during fishing competitions or road closures due to races. While the slipway is theoretically controlled by MCM, the responsibility falls on the Kalk Bay harbourmaster. In case the main slipway is overwhelmed, there is an alternative slipway at Rumbly Bay that is available to members of the Cape Boat Club. Although it is less protected and usable only at certain tides, it offers better security and facilities than the main parking area at Miller's Point. So, divers can enjoy their day without worrying about their gear or wallet being snatched by the mischievous baboons!
