Get in
Are you ready for an adventurous shore dive? Picture yourself at a small beach, nestled in a protected inlet at the tip of the point at S3413.934 E01828.577. Access to open water is through gaps between massive boulders, which can be quite exhilarating to navigate through, especially in rough conditions. As you venture beyond the enclosure, you'll discover extensive kelp beds, adding to the underwater charm. Take in the stunning view from the South side of Millers Point, facing Rumbly Bay, with Castle Rocks majestically in the background. This beach serves as a gateway to the kelp beds and the captivating rocks off the point. To reach this thrilling destination, drive towards the sea on a tarred road just south of the point. As you approach, you'll see the ski-boat club waiting to welcome you. The road splits, with one path leading to the ski-boat club's tarred parking area through a steel sliding gate. On the opposite side, slightly higher, you'll find the boat and trailer parking area, accessible through a boomed gate that may be manned. Please note that this area is exclusively for vehicles with boat trailers. If you're a non-member of the public, have no fear! There's a parking area reserved just for you on the seaward side of the boat and trailer parking area. You may encounter gate attendants who might ask for a small fee, but it's worth it for the adventure that awaits. Remember to ask for a receipt if you pay a fee, ensuring a seamless experience. The parking area is usually spacious enough to accommodate visitors. If you're planning a boat dive, it's best to park near the steps that connect the upper and lower parking areas, as the boats are loaded at the top. For those embarking on a shore dive, park closer to your entry point, typically towards the east and right across from the gate. To reach the slipway, you have two options. The first is a footpath through a gate at the north end of the parking area, while the second involves taking the road to the slipway, which is longer but offers its own scenic charm. The entrance to the rumbly bay area is conveniently located just south of the east side of the parking area. You'll see it as soon as you arrive! The path to the sheltered point area can also be accessed from the east side of the parking lot, guiding you towards an experience like no other. Check out the photo for a sneak peek of what awaits you.
