The planned site further south on the peninsula turned out to be unsuitable, so this site was chosen as an alternative. The visibility here is considerably better, making it a great option for exploration. Surveys have revealed that there is more extensive reef in the area than previously anticipated. In fact, a new site called Finlay's Pinnacle has recently been discovered, and there are likely more to come. This area is part of the Castle Rocks restricted zone, which is part of the Table Mountain Marine Protected Area. As a result, there is expected to be abundant fish life on the reefs.

As you approach the site, you'll find a good anchorage close to the south of the imposing rocks, offering the perfect spot to drop anchor and explore further. While the site is close to the shore, the journey to reach it by road is an exciting challenge. The road winds its way up the steep mountainside, providing breathtaking views along the way. To access the site by car, park at the roadside in a gravel lay-bye, which you can easily spot from an aerial photo. From there, embark on a thrilling adventure down a "path" that nature has carved into the landscape. Be prepared for a long and steep descent, with moments where you might find yourself holding onto the surrounding bush for support. The bush, while not thorny, can be quite an annoyance as it brushes against you. However, it adds an extra layer of excitement to the climb back up. Once you reach the bottom of the dirt path, a spectacular granite ridge awaits you. This ridge slopes down to the north-east, leading you towards the entry point. The entry point itself is a north-east facing gulley, adorned with short heavy kelp and a vibrant growth of mussels and limpets. With mask and fins in hand, take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty surrounding you before entering the gully. It's important to exercise caution and ensure the safety of the conditions, particularly if there is a large swell. The proximity of this entry point to the swimthroughs adds an extra element of thrill and exploration to your adventure.
