Get ready for an epic shore dive at Rocklands road! While parking may be limited, it's worth the effort to experience this underwater wonderland. To find the spot, turn off the R44 into Anemone street and drive until you reach the T-junction. Take a left into Rocklands road, and brace yourself for a road that swings right and then sharply to the left. As you make your way, you'll notice a magnificent sloping rock face, followed by a captivating open area that slopes down to a series of small ridges, gullies, and ultimately the sparkling water on your right. Once you've parked your vehicle, it's time to embark on your diving adventure. Follow the path to the left of the boulder in the foreground, weaving between the enchanting ridges. As you make your way down, you'll reach the entry/exit point nestled beside the main gully. Remember, this diving hotspot is best enjoyed during good weather with minimal swell. Keep an eye on the south-west swell, as it can make your dive more challenging. Diving into the deep waters is a thrill like no other. You can simply jump off the end of the ridge, but be prepared for a bit of a scramble when it's time to get out. The steep and barnacle-encrusted rocks will put your agility to the test. Make sure to time your exit between waves, reaching a safe height before removing your gear. We highly recommend reinforced kneepads and gloves for this daring endeavor. If you prefer a slightly easier exit at high tide or in moderate surge, there's an alternative ledge just to seaward (left) of the main gully. But be aware, this is not a diving spot for beginners or those unfamiliar with the local conditions. It's always advisable to have a guide if you're not well-versed in navigating these thrilling waters. As for the side gullies, they may be picturesque, but their strong surge makes them unsuitable for entry or exit. Save those for a sightseeing adventure instead! If you're feeling even more adventurous, you can also choose to dive from a boat. However, make sure you have the required permit and be prepared for a longer journey from the local slip, Hangklip, or Gordons Bay. So, grab your gear and prepare for an unforgettable underwater exploration!
