- By Train: If you're looking for a more adventurous way to travel, you can take a train from Bangkok airport to the main Hualamphong train station in town. From there, you can board an overnight train to Chumphon. Once in Chumphon, a high-speed ferry will take you to Koh Tao in about 1.5 hours. - By Bus: For those on a budget, a bus journey is a cost-effective option. From Bangkok airport, you can take a metered taxi to Khao San Road. At Khao San Road, you can easily book a combined bus and boat ticket that will take you directly to Koh Tao. The bus ride will be overnight, followed by a ferry ride to the island.
