Embark on a fascinating journey to discover the ancient ruins of Serjilla and Al Bara in Syria. These historical sites can be reached from Aleppo or Hama by taking regular public microbuses and hitchhiking the last stretch. Start your trip by taking a microbus to the town of Ma'aret an Nu'man and then switch to another microbus headed for Kefr Nabl. Once you arrive, it's recommended to ask for walking directions and start your journey along the road to Serjillah. Don't hesitate to wave down any vehicle going in the same direction, as they are likely to offer you a free ride. Make sure to plan your return journey in time, as microbuses cease operation as early as 4 pm. Similar transportation options are available to reach the Simeon Monastery from Aleppo. Take a microbus to Daret'Azze and then either walk or hitch a ride from there. Keep in mind that Aleppo has multiple bus stations located closely together, so it can be confusing to find the correct departure point. The best source of information are the people who work at the stations, such as food/drink vendors and drivers. Although some may try to sell you an expensive chartered vehicle ride, many will be helpful and point you in the right direction. Immerse yourself in history as you explore the enchanting ruins of Serjilla, Al Bara, and the Simeon Monastery. These extraordinary sites will transport you back in time and leave you in awe of Syria's rich cultural heritage.
