The newly paved road, completed in September 2014, has made it easier than ever to reach Dalanzadgad. You can now hop on a daily bus from Ulaanbaatar at 08:00 and 16:00. This scenic bus ride takes about seven hours and only costs 22,900T. Catch the bus at the convenient bus station in Ulaanbaatar, which you can easily reach by taking the Electrobus #4. The bus will drop you off in the North-East part of Dalanzadgad, right across from the Mazaalai Ger Camp. Don't worry about getting hungry on the way, as the bus even makes a half-hour stop at a restaurant in Mandalgovi for a delicious lunch. If you prefer to fly, you're in luck! Starting from summer 2017, Hunnu Air and Aero Mongolia offer flights between Dalanzadgad and Ulaanbaatar with various frequencies. The small terminal at the Dalanzadgad airport is air-conditioned and even has a WiFi sign. Although there may not be open WiFi spots available, you'll find snack and souvenir shops to keep you entertained during your wait. Keep in mind that there is no regular public transportation available from the airport to Dalanzadgad, so make sure to plan your transportation in advance.
