Get in
Komagane, a peaceful city with around 30,000 residents, is the ideal starting point for hikes in the Chuo Alps. It offers convenient connections to Tokyo via a highway bus and is also accessible by the JR Iida line train. To save some energy before your hike, take the ropeway from Shirabidaira (altitude 1,662m) to Sensojiki (2,612m). This breathtaking ride spans almost one kilometer in altitude! A one-way ticket costs 1180, and a return ticket is priced at 2200. Buses from Komagane to Shirabidaira operate every half hour until 5pm. Please note that the road from Komagane-kogen to Shirabidaira is exclusive to buses. If you prefer a different starting point, you can approach the mountain range from the west. Begin your adventure directly from Kuramoto station, where a hiking trail leads you up to Utsugidake. The hike from the station to Kisodono hut is quite long but manageable in a day if you start early. [CHECK LINK FOR MORE INFORMATION](http://www.chuo-alps.com/en/ropeway.html)
