Welcome to Changbaishan National Reserve, a magnificent natural flora and fauna sanctuary covering an expansive 2000 square kilometers. As part of UNESCO's Man and Biosphere Program, this reserve is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts. Prepare to be captivated by the awe-inspiring Chonji Lake (Tainchi Lake), majestic mountains, invigorating hot springs (not for bathing), and enchanting waterfalls, all of which contribute to the reserve's reputation as one of the six local natural wonders. Explore the pristine forests that adorn the mountains, offering an unforgettable adventure for tourists. Keep in mind that while Tianchi Lake stretches 13 km in circumference, you won't be able to walk around it as the far side borders North Korea. Mount Paektu, also known as Changbaishan, features two distinct areas: the northern slope and the western slope, each with its own entrance separated by 100km. Please note that hiking outside the prescribed tourist routes is not permitted. However, don't fret! Guided tours and park vehicles are available to ensure your safety and provide an extraordinary experience. Just remember, the border to North Korea is not clearly marked, so it's important to rely on the expertise of your guide for a seamless journey.
