The park, located approximately 70 miles north of Washington D.C., can be easily reached by car. To get there from Washington D.C., take I270 north to Frederick, MD. Then, continue on Route 15 north to Thurmont, MD. From there, take Route 77 west and travel 3 miles. When you reach Route 77, turn right onto Park Central Road. You'll find the Park Visitor Center on the right, waiting to welcome you!
