The region is well-connected to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. There are three paved roads that link the region to Phnom Penh: - National Highway 5, running from Phnom Penh, through Battambang, to Poipet. - National Highway 3, running from Phnom Penh to Kampot. - National Highway 4, running from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville. In addition, there are two paved roads that connect the region to Thailand: - National Highway 57, running from the Ban Pakard/Pailin border crossing to Battambang. - National Highway 48, running from the Trat/Koh Kong border crossing, joining National Highway 4 north of Sihanoukville. Exploring the northern mountainous region from Koh Kong is an adventurous option, but be prepared for challenging conditions, especially if you're riding a dirt bike.
