Visiting Caral from Lima offers a thrilling adventure, perfect for a weekend getaway. Embark on a journey that takes approximately 3 hours each way, making it a long but worthwhile day trip. Begin your expedition by hopping on a bus heading towards Barranca (recommended bus companies include Turismo Barranca and Turismo Paramongo) for around 15 soles. If you plan to spend the night, Barranca provides convenient accommodation options. However, if you're only visiting Caral, request to get off at Supe, approximately 12km before Barranca. From Supe, catch a combi to Caral for about 5 soles. Remember to mention Ciudad Sagrada or el puente (the bridge) to ensure you're dropped off at the right spot, just a short 10-15 minute walk from the actual archaeological site.
