If you're traveling to this region, the nearest major airport is located in Salt Lake City. Interstate highways 15 and 70 flank the area on the west and north respectively. These well-connected highways make it easy to access the region from Salt Lake City, St. George, and even Colorado. However, due to the rugged topography of the region, there are few direct highways leading in. The most common routes are via US 191 and state roads 24, 95, 72, and 12, which are usually accessed from I-70 or other minor highways on the eastern side. Keep in mind that access from the south is limited due to the imposing Grand Canyon just across the state line in Arizona.
