Getting to Burdur If you're considering traveling to Burdur, there are a few options available to you. By Plane: Burdur does have an airport, but the flights are limited to domestic destinations. The frequency of flights is low, so it may be difficult to find a suitable flight. Currently, there is only one outbound flight from Istanbul to Isparta and one inbound flight from Isparta to Istanbul per day. Therefore, it might be more convenient to consider using the airport in the neighboring city of Antalya. Antalya has the second busiest airport in Turkey, with numerous domestic and international flights throughout the year. By Bus or By Car: Burdur is conveniently located on the main highway connecting Istanbul and Antalya, as well as Ankara and Antalya. Any car heading to Antalya from the Marmara, Aegean, or Anatolia regions will pass through Burdur. Finding a bus to Burdur is also quite easy, and it would be hard to miss the city if you're driving your own car. The bus ticket from Antalya to Burdur costs 15 TL, and the journey takes around 2 hours to cover a distance of 122 km. There are over 50 buses operating daily, but if you need even more options, you can try the local bus firm called Bucak Seyahat. They offer mini-buses every 25 minutes, although you might have to change buses along the way, and these mini-buses may not be as comfortable as the regular ones. By Train: As of now, the Burdur Train Station is not operational. However, there are plans to connect it to Istanbul in 2016, although the details are not yet known.
