Discover the breathtaking beauty of the Boston Harbor Islands, a national park area managed by the Boston Harbor Islands Partnership. This unique collaboration, consisting of thirteen member organizations including the National Park Service, works tirelessly to preserve and protect this natural paradise.
With Massachusetts claiming 17 of the islands within Boston Harbor Island State Park, visitors are treated to a diverse and enchanting landscape. During the summer season, the islands open their doors daily from 9AM until sunset, welcoming guests to explore their wonders. Although spring and fall offer a more limited schedule, reservations can be made for school groups wanting to experience the islands on weekdays.
As you embark on your adventure, it's important to note that pets are not allowed on the islands, ensuring a peaceful and undisturbed environment for both wildlife and visitors. While bicycles and rollerblades are prohibited, Georges and Peddocks islands offer paved walkways perfect for leisurely strolls or pushing strollers. If you are planning a group visit with 25 or more people, day use permits are required, so make sure to plan ahead and obtain the necessary permits for a smooth and enjoyable experience.
