The main temple complex is home to the famous Mahabodhi temple and stupa, a site of great significance. As you explore, be sure to visit the Lotus Pond and meditation garden, offering moments of tranquility and reflection.
In addition to the Mahabodhi temple, Bodh Gaya boasts temples and monasteries representing various Buddhist traditions from nations like Bhutan, Bangladesh, China, Japan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Tibet. You can easily visit these temples, as they are all within walking distance of the Mahabodhi temple.
Please note that mobile phones are not permitted inside the Mahabodhi Temple for security reasons. However, you can capture the beauty of the surroundings with a camera. Just remember to purchase a camera ticket, which costs INR 100 rupees. If you prefer to record your experiences through video, you can obtain a video camera ticket for INR 500.
As you enter the temple complex, please remove your shoes as a sign of respect. You will find a designated area for shoe storage, where hundreds of other pairs are safely kept. Alternatively, you may choose to wear heavy socks to protect your feet. Now, let the journey to enlightenment begin!
