Biha municipality is a region of 900 km2 where approximately 70,000 citizens reside. Throughout ancient times, this area has been a favored settlement due to its advantageous geographic position and favorable climate conditions. Recent excavations and research reveal the presence of human activity during the Older Stone Age, Late Bronze Age, Late and Early Iron Age. The Japodes tribe, known for their unique culture, has left its mark on Biha through their distinctive building solutions for houses on stilts, as well as their exquisite bronze, iron, and silver jewelry. The archeological findings in places like Biha, Golubi, Pritoka, and Ripa highlight the specific characteristics of the Illyrian culture in the Japodes area. The Una River, which has defined Biha for centuries, adds to the charm of the city and municipality. The famous waterfalls in trbaki buk and Martinbrod attract attention from far and wide. Furthermore, the valleys near the Una headwaters and Unac River have been designated as a National Park since 2008. The Una River is a beloved destination for both local and foreign tourists, drawing many visitors each year. The annual Una Regatta, held for thirty-six summers, offers thrilling adventures, camaraderie, cultural events, and other entertaining activities.
