Traveling to Bergama: Istanbul, Izmir, and Canakkale From Istanbul: - Duration: The trip from the Bayrampasa Otogar in Istanbul takes approximately 9 and a half hours. - Alternative route: Some travelers use the modern city of Izmir as a base for exploring Bergama and other nearby sites. The journey from Izmir to Bergama by bus takes less than 2 hours. From Izmir: - Getting to the Otogar (bus station): Buses 54, 60, 64, and 191 go from the city center to the otogar, located around 8 km to the east. - Taking the bus to Bergama: Metro Turizm operates regular bus services from the otogar to the center of Bergama. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and costs 12TL. - Exploring Bergama: The Acropolis is just a ten-minute walk from the bus stop. From Canakkale: - Route 1: Metro Turizm buses leave you on the side of the highway near Bergama. Walk across the highway to reach the Otogar. Free Metro minibuses from the Otogar will take you to Bergama city center. - Route 2: Soma Sehayat bus offers a convenient direct trip from Eceabat or Canakkale to Bergama city center. This can be organized at the travel agency next to Truva. The travel agency provides a shuttle to the main bus terminal, where you can catch the Soma Sehayat bus. The journey takes approximately 4 hours and costs 50tl. - Route 3: Truva Bus Company also runs buses from Canakkale to Bergama. The journey takes 5 hours with several stops.
