The ferry is scheduled to leave at 11 AM on Tuesdays and 2 PM on Fridays. To secure a spot on the ferry, simply purchase a ticket for 27,000 Rupiah at the harbor. If you wish to bring your motorbike along, an additional fee of 50,000 Rupiah applies. The ferry ride takes approximately four hours and brings you to the mesmerizing island called Balai, which is part of the Banyak island group. Alternatively, cargo ships also serve as a means of transportation to and from Balai. These ships typically depart between 8 and 9 AM, making it easy to hop aboard. For the journey, the price is 50,000 Rupiah (30,000 Rupiah for locals). The cargo ship adventure offers a unique experience and a chance to witness the comings and goings of island life. If speed is more your style, speedboats are available on demand. However, keep in mind that they can be a bit pricey, with fares starting at 1,000,000 Rupiah. But if you're looking for a quick and convenient way to reach any island in the Banyak group, speedboats are an excellent option. Lastly, it's crucial to note that there are no ATMs on Banyak, so be sure to plan ahead. In Singkil, near the docks, you'll find ATMs where you can withdraw cash. However, it's advisable to carry enough Rupiah with you, as the exchange conditions for Euros or Dollars on the island may not be ideal.
