Understand
The southern municipal boundary is easily recognizable due to the gigantic, ancient acacia trees that form a picturesque tunnel for the national road. As you pass through, you'll catch glimpses of grand Spanish style houses nestled in expansive grounds. Once you've gone past the sugar mill on the west side and the imposing Baldwin Locomotive on the east, you'll encounter a long straight road flanked by vast cane fields on both sides for about 4km. Suddenly, without any urban sprawl to precede it, you'll find yourself in the vibrant town of Bais. One of its standout features is the newly built two-story Mercado de Bais, which greets you unexpectedly.
