Keep in mind that the regular bus is not recommended for tourists, as the Tourism Police may require a copy of your passport upon arrival in Bawiti town. By microbus: For a quicker and more flexible option, you can take a microbus from Cairo to Bahariyya. These microbuses are available at El Moneeb bus-station and take about 3.5-4 hours, depending on breaks. The cost is approximately 300-400 LE, or possibly cheaper if arranged through your hotel/hostel. The advantage of taking a microbus is that the Tourism Police won't be aware of your arrival, ensuring a more independent experience during your time in Bahariyya.
