Planning to visit the captivating state of Arunachal Pradesh in India? If you're an Indian tourist, you'll need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to explore the different sectors. You can acquire the ILP from any of the AP Houses in New Delhi, Kolkata, or Guwahati. Remember, each sector requires its own ILP, so choose accordingly from the following options: 1. Bomdila, Dirang, Tawang 2. Itanagar, Ziro 3. Namdapha, Changlang For foreign tourists, a Restricted Area Permit (RAP) is necessary. Please note that you cannot obtain the RAP at the AP House in Guwahati. Instead, you can get it in New Delhi or Kolkata. If you're part of a private group of 2 or more people, travel agents in Guwahati can assist you in obtaining the permit. Rhino Travels is one such agency, and they charge $75 per person (as of May 2014). Remember to carry copies of your permits, as they will be required at official checkpoints and all accommodations throughout your journey. If you're arriving by train at Naharlagun railway station, you can obtain both the ILP and RAP there. The charges for domestic tourists for the ILP is 400 INR, while for foreigners, it's 3200 INR. As of November 2017, the ILP can also be obtained online at the official website, arunachalilp.com, for INR 100 per person.
