Welcome to Apple Valley, located at the southern edge of the stunning Mojave Desert! Brace yourself for scorching summer days reaching the upper 90s, chilly winter nights dipping into the mid 30s, and limited rainfall in this beautiful city.
Contrary to its name, Apple Valley may not have any apple orchards today. However, its history is rich with a thriving apple industry until World War II. Unfortunately, the city faced immense challenges in the mid-1940s with fungal infections and extreme weather, resulting in the decimation of the local apple crops. Ironically, it was in 1949, after the destruction of most orchards, that the Postal Service approved the name "Apple Valley" for the local post office.
While apple orchards may not dominate this city anymore, Apple Valley proudly stands as the beloved home and final resting place of the legendary western film stars, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. These iconic figures graced our screens from the 1930s to the 1950s, leaving an indelible mark on the history of this extraordinary place.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the captivating atmosphere of Apple Valley - a city with a unique story and a tribute to the golden era of western films!
