Do you have your sights set on Medellin, Colombia? Look no further than Rionegro's Aeropuerto Internacional Jose Maria Cordova (MDE), where all international flights arrive. Regional flights, on the other hand, depart from Aeropuerto Enrique Olaya Herrera (EOH), conveniently located near the vibrant neighborhood of El Poblado. When purchasing your tickets, double-check your departure airport, as the majority of flights depart from MDE. Prepare for an unforgettable journey as you explore the wonders of Medellin and beyond! Upon arrival at MDE, taxis await outside the arrivals area, offering a hassle-free mode of transportation at a flat fare. Don't worry, the price is displayed on a sticker in the windshield for transparency. While taxi fares may vary slightly, ranging from 65,000 to 70,000 pesos, this should be the extent of your cost to reach your destination safely and comfortably. Alternatively, if you prefer a more economical option, there is a bus service available to take you into downtown Medellin for under 10,000 pesos, payable in cash directly to the driver or his assistant. During the scenic bus ride, you will pass various points of interest, including the Terminal del Norte, one of the city's major bus terminals, and a bustling shopping mall. For a quicker journey or if you plan to go all the way downtown, taxis are readily available at these stops. However, take note that the neighborhood you will arrive in, Centro, is not the ideal place to be at night, especially for first-time visitors. As you disembark, you will find yourself in the area immediately behind Hotel Nutibarra, surrounded by numerous motels. To ensure a safe and hassle-free arrival, it is highly recommended to have a game plan in place, such as immediately getting into a taxi. Furthermore, you can also take the airport buses from downtown to Rionegro. These buses, marked with pictures of airplanes and labeled "Aeropuerto JMC," depart every 15 minutes or faster if they fill up. The ride takes approximately an hour, so be sure to allocate enough time for your journey to the airport. Note that city buses do not go to the international airport, so make sure to check for the "Aeropuerto JMC" sign and airplane images to ensure you're on the right bus. For those staying in the Rionegro area, larger city buses are available outside the JMC airport, providing convenient transportation to your destination. So get ready to explore the vibrant city of Medellin and immerse yourself in the rich culture of Colombia!
