Understand
The city of Anamur consists of two distinct parts: the older town center nestled against the majestic mountain ranges and the newer coastal neighborhood characterized by concrete blocks, frequently used as summer houses. These two areas are approximately two and a half kilometers apart.
Anamur holds the distinction of being one of Turkey's two regions known for commercial-scale banana production, alongside Alanya. As a result, Anamur has become synonymous with domestically-produced bananas in Turkey.
On clear days, the Pentadactylos/Beparmak mountain range in Cyprus, located 40 miles off-shore, is visible from Anamur, adding to the scenic beauty of the area.
