Alcoy, a town established in 1256, has a rich history. During the War of Spanish Succession (1701-1714), Alcoy stood by archduke Charles, which led to a siege and the loss of many privileges. This unfortunate event plunged the town into a period of decline. However, Alcoy is now known as the vibrant city of bridges, as it is home to numerous bridges that cross the picturesque rivers of Molinar, Serpis, and Barchell. The town is nestled at the base of the magnificent Serra Mariola and Font Roja Natural Parks, offering breathtaking natural beauty and an authentic Spanish atmosphere.
