Adana, the ancient city with a rich history dating back to 6000 B.C, has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous civilizations. Once home to the Phoenicians, Chaldeans, Assyrians, Hittites, Persians, and many more, it ultimately became part of the mighty Ottoman Empire. Nestled in the splendid Cilician Plains and graced by the flowing Seyhan River, Adana stands tall as the fifth largest city in Turkey, bustling with a population of over 1.3 million. While it may not be as well-known as its neighboring cities, Adana harbors hidden gems waiting to be explored. Venturing through Adana unravels the enchanting fusion of history and modernity. The city encompasses two distinct areas: the vibrant old city center, teeming with narrow streets and ancient architecture, and the newer, high-rise suburbs that overlook the Seyhan dam. Fondly known as Kuzey Adana or Yeni Adana (meaning "North Adana" or "New Adana" respectively), these suburbs offer striking views of the old city and the picturesque river. From ancient ruins to breathtaking landscapes, Adana and its charming countryside promise an adventure like no other.
